READ through all problems and do the ones easiest for you first.  There are 5 work out problems.  The rest are fill in or multiple choice. 

This is a closed book test.

You are allowed one side of one notebook page of self-prepared notes, calculator (not computer) and pencils.

In all problems, assume no frictional losses of energy unless otherwise stated. 

Any student caught cheating will have his/her grade reduced to a zero.

You may substitute Problem xx for either Problem aa, bb or cc, or do it for extra credit.

h = 6.63 x 10 –34 J-s       c = 3.00 x 108 m/s  

me = 9.11 x 10-31 kg       mn = m p =  1.675 x 10-27 kg
