Announcements: Midterm now set for Feb 8th (Wednesday). See posted review questions to be used as study guide. You may take one page of handwritten notes (two sides). Otherwise closed book.

Lab exam on Feb 6th and 7th. Tomorrow and Thursday, there will be a practice test, with unknown minerals. So you will know what sort of thing to expect on your lab test. Your stereonets are due this week.

Minerals will be out Friday after class again for those that need to work on those.

Please note that the textbook is a guide to be used to supplement information given in lecture and lab. It is also a reference that contains useful tables and charts as well as useful information on the minerals you will be examining in the laboratory. The reading next to lectures and lab materials are background and reference. If a subject is not covered in lecture or lab, such as the orbitals in Chapter 3 in Nesse, it will not appear in the tests.
